About the role 

Reporting to the Business Leader, you’ll be responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair and improvement of all process equipment supported by Abercrombie across our Scotch sites. Working with the Abercrombie Management team, Site Management and Maintenance Planners you’ll ensure compliance with, and delivery of, Abercrombie KPI metrics whilst ensuring adherence to plans and delivery of wider business targets.

You’ll be supervising a team of tradesmen in the Alloa facility and on production sites, carrying out a wide range of fabrication, engineering and maintenance tasks and site installation work.  In addition, you be leading less experienced team members, actively supporting and coaching them to develop their skills.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Site Manager’s, Operators, Maintenance Managers, Maintenance planners and Craft groups to ensure all mandatory and requested maintenance is effectively delivered with minimal impact on production, ensuring the correct resource and spare parts are available to carry out the maintenance tasks.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to plant breakdown situations: analyse, fault find and repair root cause problems to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Providing feedback on mechanical improvement workstreams relative to sites or engineering centre.
  • Supporting the Abercrombie Management team and acting as a point of contact for asset care Manufacturing Excellence (TRACC) metric delivery at sites. Leading workstreams that produce results in improving reliability and efficiency, whilst at the same time delivering potential cost savings to the business.
  • Owning and driving asset care IMPROVE activity both directly at site and within the asset care community. Actively take part in root cause problem solving (RCPS) activity and provide subject matter expertise to ensure that 100-year fixes are identified, actioned and implemented.

 

What you’ll bring 

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of stakeholders across the plant.  You will be organised and self-reliant, handling your own workload and priorities while solving problems and supporting process and equipment improvement projects.

In addition, you’ll have:

  • HNC in an Engineering subject or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years' experience working in a production or service environment
  • Experience in supervising a team
  • Experienced in data analysis, use of applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and business systems such as SAP
  • Knowledge of Distilling & Malting processes is desirable
