Regional Sales Executive (Scotland North)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a regional sales executive to join a well-established and growing independent business, with over 25 years’ experience in the Whisky and Spirits industry internationally. As a regional sales executive, you will be bringing our brands to the market across the northern areas of Scotland, Identifying key independent retail and on trade accounts to grow distribution for our portfolio of brands, and to share our passion for everything we do. This role will give the right whisky and spirits enthusiast a chance to use their experience and knowledge to shape and influence a small company with big ambition.
Key responsibilities:
- Proactively seek out and chase new business opportunities to grow sales for both Independent retail & the On Trade.
- Act as brand ambassador by delivering training and consumer tasting sessions at events or with customers. (There will be some requirement for evening and weekend work).
- Assisting the UK sales manager to develop UK distribution, with an initial primary focus on increasing the number of independent retail accounts across Scotland’s north before moving onto brand partnerships with key ontrade accounts. (This role will require some travel).
- Build and develop lasting relationships with key accounts and new customers.
- To manage the individual customers P&L, including any promotional spend.
- Debt management of the account base.
- Assisting with our branded events throughout the year with a focus on the North of Scotland, but across the UK also.
Skills required:
- 2 -3 + years’ experience in selling branded spirits (especially whisky) to both On Trade and independent retail
- Must have current contacts within assigned territory.
- Ability to take NPD to market and deliver strong sales.
- Strong selling and negotiation skills.
- Whisky knowledge (essential).
- Compelling and engaging communicator, must have excellent interpersonal skills to develop highly effective internal and external partnerships.
- A strong team player who loves rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in.
- Not afraid of a challenge.
- Proficient in personal planning and time management
- Experience of budgetary management.
- Understand and have experience of customer category development.
