Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered.  In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

The Operational Excellence team support our manufacturing business unit to facilitate the implementation of our Continuous Improvement program.  They are a team of 8 who are based at our Kilmalid Campus in Dumbarton.  The site produces over 20 million cases of flagship brands every year.

Your unique contribution

The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Business Partner will support departments within the manufacturing business unit to facilitate the implementation of our TRACC CI program.

You will have three main areas of responsibility:

  • Business Support
    • Lead on the area Loss & Waste analyse with the Area Manager to identify the improvement strategy for the next 12 weeks – 12 months.
    • Provide guidance and support in the implementation of the TRACC(s) and liaise and coordinate between site leadership and local task forces to ensure that activities are consistently aligned.
    • You will also support the creation and implementation of standards for best practice.
    • You will take the lead to deliver strategic productivity saving projects.
    • Lead or support cross functional working session to improve business process and reduce waste in the organisation.
  • Change Facilitation – to facilitate the change process, this will involve:
    • providing insights in support or challenge to action/project owners
    • assisting with identifying and resolving key risk issues
    • providing logistical support for run and improve focused meetings
    • ensuring that TRACC Platform is optimised to support and assess the change process.
    • lead on the TRACC Assessments
    • monitoring and reporting on practice and performance progress at meetings of the site leadership and task forces.
  • Training Support – to support the training and development of key change agents, at various levels in the business as well as supporting internal trainers in the coordination and delivery of training activities.

Who you’ll be working with

Internally, you will collaborate with all areas of Manufacturing, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Bottling, Vatting, Quality, Health and Safety and New Product Development as well as other functions such as HR and Finance.  Your main stakeholders will be the Warehousing Leadership team: Finished Goods manager; Dry Goods Manager; Warehousing Project Lead; Head of Warehousing.  You will influence and coach the Warehousing Team Leaders and operators.

Externally, you will collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard.
