About the role 

Reporting to the Logistics Team Leader, you will operate effectively in a highly process led environment and will be responsible for developing and maintaining outstanding relationships with key market contacts and service providers thus ensuring an excellent understanding and delivery of the market’s requirements.

At the core of the role the Market Service Owner (MSO) is there to ensure efficient, reliable movement of customer orders from production to in-market delivery, on time and in full. They prepare and collate export documentation relating to orders in line with market requirements and work directly with logistics carriers to ship Diageo’s product globally. They must be agile to meet the pressing and often time dependent demands of the market. The MSO also plays a key role in monitoring and triggering billing which is crucial in Diageo meeting hitting revenue recognition.

You will demonstrate a good understanding of your markets’ unique requirements and products and will be capable of resolving all export issues.

You’ll manage all freight processes to ensure appropriate services are selected at optimum cost. Identify special pre-shipment requirements. You will be also responsible for PO creation and investigation, billing and freight quoting.

MSOs also play a critical role in supporting the businesses drive for digital change. Supporting new system digital deployments transforming our supply chain.

What you’ll bring 

To be successful in role you will have experience working in a logistics or customer service environment. Knowledge of freight documentation and terminology is beneficial but not essential.

In addition:

  • You will be solutions orientated and have dedication to overcome obstacles to get results.
  • You’ll have excellent communication skills and will be able to build relationships with customers across global markets, production sites and third-party freight service suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be an advantage as well as general skills such as Word and Excel.
  • You will have a one team attitude and enjoy collaborative working with the wider business and team to ensure end results are achieved in line with business objectives.
