We are an organisation of 2,000 employees in the UK, headquartered in London, in a brand-new office designed with sustainability, ‘conviviality’ and collaboration in mind. We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.
Your new team
This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered.
In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.
The Manufacturing Health & Safety (H&S) Team, a team of 4, support our largest site in Dumbarton, where we Bottle and Distribute our products. Onsite we have over 800 colleagues working across 17 Bottling Lines, Inbound and Outbound Warehouses, a Vatting Complex and Tanker Stations as well as our onsite offices.
Your unique contribution
The Health & Safety Specialist will support the implementation of our H&S Strategy through the engagement of employees, contractors, and key stakeholders to help drive our safety culture journey to zero harm.
You will have four main areas of responsibility:
Stakeholder Engagement: To influence, engage and positively challenge line managers and employees with an intent to change H&S attitudes and behaviours. You will provide competent, expert risk management and H&S advice to the business. Strategy Deployment: To support the implementation of the H&S strategy through frontline coaching of line managers and employees. Reporting & Compliance: To report and monitor H&S data. Develop, implement, audit, and maintain H&S Policies and Standards. You will ensure compliance with all existing and new H&S legislation, undertake audits and complete risk assessments. Incident Management: Support with problem resolution including formal incident investigation.
Who you’ll be working with
Internally, you will collaborate with all departments across the organisation at all levels. This includes Vatting, Bottling, Dry Goods, Finished Goods, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering and HR.
Externally, you will collaborate with regulatory authorities, trade bodies and suppliers, as required, to help ensure delivery of services to safety standards.
