To assist the Company by supporting the Facilities Technician in carrying out pre planned and reactive facilities maintenance tasks within the Warehousing Complex ensuring compliance with health and safety.
  • Background
    A ‘hands on’ technician with experience in a manufacturing, FMCG or warehousing environment. Confident working both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on flexibility and efficiency.

    Technical Experience

    • Forklift truck Qualification & Re-assessment
    • Tractor license
    • Basic PC Skills – Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
    Health, Safety & Environment
    • IOSH Working Safely
    • Working knowledge of HSE legislation
    Behaviours 
    •  ‘Hands On’ approach to all assigned activities
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with external contractors to ensure that all work is properly planned and coordinated
    Main Responsibilities:
    1. Ensuring that all facilities on site meet the necessary health, safety and environmental requirements, complying with current legislation to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
    2. Maintaining an awareness of the regulatory and Company standards that apply to the role such as HMRC, COMAH and H&S. COMAH specific - Understand and act in accordance with the Site Emergency Response Plan in the event of an evacuation or major incident, and regularly participate in COMAH improvement activity.
    3. Performing fabric related repairs including but not limited to painting, carpentry, gutter clearing and landscaping.
    4. Ensuring all PPM and reactive tasks are delivered safely.
    5. Assisting with ground maintenance and planned industrial cleaning activities.
    6. Carrying out scheduled waste removal tasks.
    7. Assisting contractors on site as required.
    8. Any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your contractual role.

  • Founded in 1885, The North British Distillery Company Ltd (North British) is one of Scotland’s oldest and largest Scotch Whisky producers. We originally operated under the structure of a co-operative until 1993 and are now owned as a joint venture between Diageo plc and The Edrington Group.

    We are a distillation and maturation business selling grain spirit which is used as the base for blended Scotch Whisky by many well-known brands. The Distillery is based in Gorgie (Edinburgh) and this site is responsible for the production of new-make spirit, producing a by-product of animal feed, and energy via an Anaerobic Digestion plant. Our main Warehousing site is based in Muirhall (Addiewell, West Lothian), with 15 maturation warehouses and responsibility for bonding, storage and disgorging.
