What might I be doing?

Your duties in this role would vary from company to company but some of the most common duties you would have include:
- Hiring and Developing members of the sales team
- Creating new sales strategies
- Executing sales strategies
- Developing and managing the sales department budget
- Promote company products and services
- Motivate the sales team to reach company goals
- Manage sales team

What will be expected of me?

You should have good leadership skills and can drive company success. You should also have in-depth knowledge of the market and competitive products. You will have excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.

What can I expect?
You will most likely be office based with working long hours, weekends and evenings. You may also travel to meet with different people or attend events.
To have task the sales team with identifying sales targets and goals and to bring all their efforts together to achieve them and not only to just meet them but to exceed the goals.

What about the pay?
The average salary in the UK for a VP of Sales is £90,000 a year but it will vary from company to company and the most experienced workers can make up to £130,000+ per year.

What qualifications do I need to get in?
VP of Sales is a senior role so you will more than likely have many years’ experiences as a sales manager/director with lots of experience within your industry and may have worked your way up through the company before reaching this level.
But to aspire for this job you will look for a degree in sales/marketing, business, etc. With a placement year to build up experience to reach this as an end goal for your career.
