 About the role 

Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.

As a Manufacturing Excellence (ManEx) Coordinator at Shieldhall, you will be responsible for driving an integrated continuous improvement programme by implementing TRACC, delivering sustained improvements and standards and building internal capabilities. In addition, you’ll ensure everyone at Shieldhall understands what ManEx means, is engaged into the operating system and is playing their part in delivering a world class production operation

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement activities to support the delivery of breakthrough performance improvements across Shieldhall.
  • Preparing and delivering TRACC training sessions.
  • Carry out best practice assessment and process confirmations to ensure standards and best practices are implemented & sustained.
  • Be a champion for ManEx and to the wider Scotch community by sharing best practice and communication of Manex activities at Shieldhall.
  • Play a key part in promoting and embedding the ManEx agenda across Shieldhall.
  • Support operations teams on site to improve performance and standards through continuous improvement and facilitate projects and training.
  • Assist in tracking performance metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead strategic improvement projects using the DMAIC methodology. (eg 5Why, FT-DMAIC, Yellow Belt, Green Belt etc)

 

Shifts

As the Manex Coordinator, you will work a 38 hour week, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts being essential. Your remaining hours can be flexibly distributed between Monday and Thursday, providing a well-balanced schedule to what suits you best.

This blended shift pattern allows you to work closely with weekday teams, ensuring that high standards are seamlessly carried over into the weekend. It’s a great opportunity to make a real impact while also benefiting from flexibility during the week.

 

What you’ll bring 

  • Knowledge of ManEx tools & techniques e.g. 5S, SUTR
  • Recognised Health and Safety qualification or be prepared to work towards achieving one e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to all levels across the plant
  • Ability to organise a variety of tasks and prioritise self and others accordingly
  • Excellent communication skills, good attitude and professional conduct are vital.
  • Able to work as individual but also part of team. Have meticulous attention to detail
  • Operational experience
  • Experience of coaching and influencing a range of stakeholders for success
  • Ability to interpret and analyse data sources to identify loss & waste, cost saving opportunities
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office and computer literate
