As part of LVMH / Moët Hennessy, The Glenmorangie Company crafts, distributes and markets two of Scotland’s most acclaimed single malt whiskies; Glenmorangie and Ardbeg. We are seeking a standout contributor for our Quality team to play a critical role in bridging New Product Development, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations as the key quality liaison. Your objective will be to ensure smooth collaboration and forward-thinking communication to maintain project moment and a 'right first time' approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Projects:
    • Be point of contact for the Quality function, directly with NPD and Marketing/Brand, in all projects pertaining to dry goods and finished product.
    • Implement a system that gives excellent overall visibility within the quality department to enable anticipation of resource needs.
    • Attend product committees to gain insight into upcoming projects and where you can impact them positively.
    • Drive the development of AQL standards, particularly in relation to Prestige/Luxury products at earliest opportunity.
    • Own, plan and attend first production of complex dry goods to ensure adherence to agreed standards and provide troubleshooting expertise to the supplier.
  • Non-Conformances:
    • Coordinate and drive internal actions of the quality department when relating to non-conforming product (dry goods) in conjunction with the Non-Conformance Manager (ie. Production Quality Specialist, Pack Tech etc) and Dry Goods Inspection.
    • Support non-conformance activities relating to other functions to ensure effective and efficient resolution.
    • Ensure all data is present for quality actions to be suitably and efficiently dealt with.
  • Operational Support:
    • Lead/guide ongoing line trials and testing (in conjunction with the Packaging Technologists).
    • Promote good practices in quality and food safety, ensuring that our finished product (and raw materials) remain safe and compliant.
    • Partner with engineering to ensure that they are aware of technical limitations of material being used and the minimum standards that are deemed acceptable by the business.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI)
    • Assist and actively participate in the continuing CI journey currently undertaken by The Glenmorangie Company and provide advice/support in your areas of expertise.
  • Team Management
    • To build and manage, in conjunction with the Quality & Product Compliance Manager, a high performing team of Packaging Technologists who will be responsible for implementation of new core products into production and all requisite testing and trialling required.

Key Skills:

Professional/Technical Experience:

  • Expertise in packaging materials, (relevant degree or industrial experience).
  • Experience working with dry goods component suppliers.
  • Proven project management qualification or demonstrable experience.
  • Commercially aware (Business experience).
  • Negotiation skills.
